ROCCELLA JONICA
“Bianca Senatore travelled alone to Roccella Jonica, a small coastal town in Calabria that serves as one of Italy’s principal arrival points for migrants crossing from both the Turkish coast and Libya. The photos document the vessels that make these crossings, sailboats and wooden boats bearing the marks of days at sea, as well as the rescue operations carried out by the local Red Cross branch, Riviera dei Gelsomini, as they attend to migrants disembarking on the Calabrian shore.“
