This is the container of one of the most important and representative foods from my region, Huila, Colombia. My cousin brought it to me in Europe after visiting Colombia. When he handed it to me, it felt like remembering the taste of my childhood and my culture. It felt like a hug from my country.
Every time I savored this food, it reminded me of what I felt when I was close to my family, when we ate them with aguapanela, and of my sisters arguing over who would get to eat the last one. Every time I see the container, I am reminded of where I come from and of what my roots taste like.
