FOREST BETWEEN POLAND AND BELARUS
“Bianca Senatore and photographer Rafał Wojczal travelled together to report on the situation on the border between Poland and Belarus, near the rural municipality of Białowieża and its surrounding forest. Working alongside the Polish human rights organisation Fundacja Ocalenie, the photos document the plight of migrants from the Horn of Africa who had been stranded in the forest for a week without food or water, pushed back and forth between Belarusian and Polish border police. Senatore and Wojczal captured the intervention of Fundacja Ocalenie as they located the migrants, distributed supplies and medical assistance, and guided them to safety, informing them of their right to seek asylum through Polish authorities.“
