“Bianca Senatore and photographer Nikolai Doychinov travelled together to Gevgelija, a town in North Macedonia on the border with Greece, where local police granted them permission to accompany and document a border patrol operation. The photos capture the border fence dividing Greece and North Macedonia, as well as the Afghan refugees and migrants gathered on its edges, awaiting assistance from organisations including the Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity as they seek to continue their journey northward through the Balkans.“
